Vacancies

Nabarro Poole Ltd

Nabarro Poole is a firm of accountants serving owner managed firms. It has three directors, each with a different qualification from the chartered institutes. In addition to providing accounting and tax services to its clients the firm also provides commercial advice, in particular related to finance. This may cover laying off commercial risks, raising working capital, helping negotiate with suppliers or simply budgeting as a means of improving decision making. We also help with employee matters like payroll, statutory entitlements, conditions of employment, and (happily rarely) disputes. To draw a parallel with health services we are a GP, the first port of call for our clients. We may recommend they see a specialist, we will definitely recommend a health check from time to time.

The credit crunch and subsequent recession was not kind to most of our clients. Some decided to give up their business interests, but others have adapted and are rebuilding. One or two who were in trouble are now doing very well, and we are happy to say – we helped. However, what affects our clients affects us, so we had to take our own advice and retrench.

Now things are picking up. We have used the lull in business activity to look at our systems and products and are improving both. We are very busy and expect to be busier as we continue this process and implement them in the business.  We are also stepping up our marketing effort to try and attract new business, particularly in the Wrexham area and are pleased announce that we have the following vacancy:-

Part time Marketer.

Full time salary equivalent £20,000p.a. to £30,000p.a. depending on experience.

Initially a part time post of about 20 hours a week, the company needs a hands-on marketer to:

Develop a list of contacts and prospects from company and other sources.

Initiate “mailings” to prospects both electronic and by post.

Follow up mailings with telephone calls to elicit any signs of interest

Develop the use of LinkedIn and Twitter to promote the business and inform existing clients.

Write press releases and develop good relationships with the local press covering the areas of our offices in Wrexham and Manchester.

Organise a weekly networking meeting, alternately in Wrexham and Manchester, and obtain the attendance of existing clients and other local businesses.

Organise occasional seminars with guest speakers and elicit attendance by clients and prospects.

Follow up work done by the practice to ascertain client satisfaction or otherwise, and obtain referrals to other prospective clients.

Personal Qualities & Experience

The successful candidate won’t need accountancy training, but will inevitably absorb an appreciation of the services that the practice can offer clients. These include accounting, statutory compliance work, tax saving, funding, reconstructions, payroll and related employee rights advice and advice to businesses on financial matters.

Success in the post will come from helping the partners to identify key prospects so that they can seek to establish a long term mutually beneficial business relationship with the prospect and turn the prospect into a client.

We work in an industry where personal relationships are very important so trust and familiarity are important qualities in the choice of accountant. We believe therefore that a persistent and consistent campaign will succeed where broadcast advertising and exhibitions will fail.

Whilst there can be considerable flexibility in working times, you will be expected to attend the meetings you organise. This will mean some early starts (maybe 7am an hour’s travel away) and maybe some late finishes.

You will need a car you can use on company business and hold a tolerably clean licence. We will pay your business expenses including business mileage at the maximum tax free rate allowed by HMRC, currently 45ppm.

We will consider applications from people with a wide range of experience. An excellent standard of English is required – at the very least an A or B grade at GCSE. Through this, you will be able to write articles for publication in newspapers and on our website, communicate intelligibly verbally, and use electronic media to broadcast our message.

You will be confident (but not too familiar) with people of all ages, including those you are meeting for the first time. You will be a good organiser and not easily discouraged.

Applications by email please to vanessa@nabarropoole.com.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your interest in Nabarro Poole.
